COMMERCE

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Management of the college was established in 1970 with B.Com (Regular) programme . The main objective of establishing this department was to impart commerce education to the students of nearby areas especially to the students belonging to the rural belt.

To cater to the requirements of the professional education B.Com (Financial Services) programme was introduced in the session 2019-2020. This programme specifically meets the requirements of industry where professional graduate having practical training and knowledge of accounting, banking, insurance and other allied areas of commerce are required for placements.

To provide opportunities to commerce graduates to pass their Masters of commerce in the college itself, Master in commerce was started during the session 2005-2006. This is the only co-educational institution of Phagwara having Masters in Commerce. The commerce graduates of not only our college take admission in Masters in Commerce. Besides this, the college is also running PG diplomas of one year duration in the stream of Business Management and Marketing Management. These diplomas are very benificial for the students as they provide job opportunities in different Industries.
